It's the seventh Duchess of Bedford, Anna Maria Russell, who we have to thank for the invention of afternoon tea, why not try it at The Ennerdale House Hotel.
The hotel is a Grade II listed building in five acres of tranquil landscaped gardens with a spectacular Italian fountain. As you walk through the large beautifully refurbished hallways, you’ll pass by painstakingly restored fireplaces and ceilings, and you’ll begin to realise that this is only the start of an experience you’ll never forget.
